Concrete Pavement Replacement Project

Location: Prairie State Generating Campus. (PSGC) – Marissa, Illinois

Construction of a 1 million dollar concrete pavement replacement project at the Prairie State Generating Campus (PSGC), which is a coal-fired power plant located in Marissa Illinois. The project consisted of full pavement replacement of 2,500 L.F. of 24-foot wide pavement with new 18″ thick reinforced concrete pavement including epoxy dowel baskets, rebar mats and etc. Existing roadway and subgrade was excavated. new compacted CA-6 aggregate was placed and 18″ concrete pavement poured over the top. LCI performed all the work while the plant is in full operation, which required a lot of daily coordination with PSGC personnel. The new pavement was required to handle the everyday operations of the heavy equipment used at the plant.
